Frequently Asked Questions

Is this “back to normal” for the Citadel?

Not quite! It’s a big step towards normal, but we’re still taking a lot of precautions to keep you safe. Horizon Series LIVE! is a special offering in advance of our return to Mainstage programming in the Spring 2021 Mini-Season.

Does this mean the building is open?

The Citadel Theatre is closed to the general public. Due to limited staffing and in keeping with physical distancing practices to keep our team safe, the Box Office is operating on reduced hours. We will only be open for in-person transactions 1 hour before each performance.

I have season tickets – do I already have tickets for the Horizon Series LIVE?

Horizon Series LIVE! is a separate offering than our Mainstage Series. Your season tickets will be back with our Spring 2021 Mini-Season starting next March.

What’s different than when I usually attend?

Usually, you would pick your preferred seat when you book your ticket. This time, we’re seating groups first-come first-serve as you arrive to ensure we can physically distance all groups that arrive. Once you book, stay tuned to your email for a message from our Box Office with more details!

What's different than when I usually attend?

Check out our video from Executive Director Chantell Ghosh on how we're keeping you safe at the Citadel:

We’ve made some changes to make sure your experience is safe in accordance with all Alberta Health Services protocol. These changes include:

  • Digital or print-at-home ticketing
  • Mandatory masks at all times within the building
  • Sanitizer stations throughout the building
  • Distanced seating with only 100 seats available in our nearly 700-seat Shoctor Theatre

Our procedures will continue evolving as guidance from provincial and federal health authorities develop. We are committed to sharing the live theatre you’ve come to know and love on our stages in a way that keeps our artists and audiences safe.

Once your tickets are booked, you can click here to log in to your Citadel Theatre account. Choose “My Upcoming Performances.” There, you can view, download, or print your tickets. In addition, our Box Office will email tickets to all ticketholders. This will happen in the order they were booked and may arrive within 48 hours of your scheduled performance.
