The Foote Theatre School (FTS) is the oldest and largest theatre school in Edmonton. Since 1966, we have provided year-round classes for all ages and experience levels, teaching physical, technical, and creative skills in both acting and musical theatre. More than 1,000 students annually are taught by our faculty of 25 local theatre professionals. We offer the largest theatre education program in Edmonton and one of the largest in Canada.
NOTE: In accordance with new targeted measures announced by the Government of Alberta on November 12, 2020, all in-person Foote Theatre School classes between November 13-27 have moved online. We intend to hold our winter term classes in person if it is safe to do so, however we will follow all provincial guidelines and if necessary the classes will take place online. Further information will be sent to all students and families as guidance develops in the coming weeks. Updated November 17.

Payment, Registration and Cancellation Policies
Full payment must be made at the time of registration. Please contact the Box Office for details. Registration is available by phone, mail, or fax. Cancellations up to 7 days before the first class will receive a refund of the course price, minus a $50 processing fee. It is important to note that there will be no refunds after that time. Please note that there is a $25 processing fee to transfer from one class to another if within 7 days prior to the start of the class. Foote Theatre School (FTS) reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient enrolment. In that event, we will try to place the student in another FTS class or a full refund will be provided.
Please note that there are no classes on statutory holidays: Monday, October 12 (Thanksgiving); Wednesday, November 11 (Remembrance Day); and Monday, February 15 (Family Day). In addition we will be closed Thanksgiving weekend (Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11).
Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a class is full, registrants will be placed on a waiting list in the order they are received.
All Theatre School classes are age specific. Any exceptions to age limits or applications procedures must be approved by the Director of Education and Outreach.

The support that we get from people like you, who are committed to arts education, is crucial to ensuring that the Foote Theatre School will be able to provide scholarships for students in need of financial aid. You will also receive a tax receipt for your donation (contact the Box Office directly for receipts).
The Citadel Theatre hopes to raise $10,000 from this campaign through generous donations from individuals. Funds raised are used to fund the Foote Theatre School scholarship program.
