We know theatre fans have been missing the magic of live performance. So we’re bringing the show to you!

With Citadel Road Shows, you can enjoy a fabulous 60-minute performance from a duo of Edmonton artists in your own backyard, on your front porch, or in any suitable outdoor space! We bring the performers, the equipment, and the music – you bring your cohort and some lawn chair seating.

Road Shows are currently available for $750+GST for 60 minutes, with spots currently available until September 5, 2021. Please note that Road Shows are only available for Edmonton, St. Albert, and Sherwood Park.

1. Porchside Prom

Featuring Jennifer McMillan and Farren Timoteo

Porchside Prom is a celebration of the most iconic high-school dance songs of all time. Featuring popular music from each decade since the 1950s, this is a socially distanced dance that promises to bring you back to the romantic glow of a disco ball in your own backyard.

2. Rooted in Love with C.J.

Featuring Chariz Faulmino and Jameela McNeil

Chariz Faulmino and Jameela McNeil will take you on a soulful hour, exploring songs of love. This dynamic duo will soothe and energize your heart with classic hit songs from yesteryears to modern-day pop tunes. Celebrating their cultural roots and the artists who’ve inspired their musical passions from Aretha Franklin to Stevie Wonder to Bruno Mars. So sit back, relax, and let the rhythm move you!

3. Forget Your Troubles

Featuring Rachel Bowron and Steven Greenfield

Forget Your Troubles…and just get happy! It seems like these days, we all need a chance to sit back, relax, and take our minds off of the frantic world around us. And what better way to do that than with some of the best-loved jazz, pop, R&B, rock & roll, and show tunes, with a side of comedy thrown in for good measure? You better chase all your cares away!

    Jen is super excited to back with Farren this summer for Porchside Prom!

    She is an active member of the Edmonton musical community as a sought-after accompanist, vocalist, clinician, composer, and arranger.

    As a vocalist, Jen has lent her talents to various publishing demos and numerous vocal ensembles. She has performed as a backup singer for Ben Folds and has been a featured vocalist in many film, television and video game recordings. A few favourites include Universal Studios Tokyo, Warframe (video game), CBS's Hawaii Five-O and CBC's The Nature of Things.

    As an accompanist, she has played for numerous school and community choirs, soloists, auditions, cabarets, and musicals in Canada and abroad.

    Jen's choral arrangements and compositions have been heard across North America and have even reached audiences in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa.

    Farren is an Edmonton-based actor, writer, and director. His acting credits include As You Like It, Shakespeare in Love, Peter and the Starcatcher, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and Monty Python's Spamalot for Citadel Theatre; The Light in the Piazza for Theatre Calgary; As You Like It and Coriolanus for Freewill Shakespeare Festival; Marvellous Pilgrims and The Scent of Compulsion for Teatro La Quindicina; Forever Plaid and Little Shop of Horrors for the Mayfield Dinner Theatre; and, Made in Italy for Western Canada Theatre, which he has toured across Canada. Farren has been honored by the Sterling Awards on many occasions, most recently for his performances in Made in Italy and Monty Python's Spamalot. In 2015, Farren was included in Avenue Magazine's prestigious list of Edmonton's Top 40 Under 40, in recognition of his artistic contributions to the city.

    Chariz Faulmino (She/hers/Siya) is a Filipina-Canadian multi-disciplinary performer based in amiskwacîwâskahikan, Treaty 6 Territory. Her theatrical/musical journey this past year has taken her to backyards, neighborhoods, and various online platforms. Recent Credits include S.I.S.T.E.R. Remount (Fox Den Collective), Sprouts Festival 2021 (Concrete Theatre), Almost A Full Moon - Collider Festival (Citadel Theatre), Windows Into New Work (Citadel Theatre), Letters To No One & Songs To No One (Dammitammy Productions), A Christmas Carol - Film vers. (Citadel Theatre), Mt. Makiling- A World Of Stories (AMTC), The Free Willies (Thou Art Here/Free Will Shakespeare). Chariz is delighted to embrace the new till the door's to the Theatre re-open!

    Jameela is a Jamaican-Canadian artist based in Amiskwacîwâskahikan/Edmonton, Alberta. She is a MacEwan Theatre Arts Alumnus most recently seen in Songs to No One (Dammitammy Productions), Citadel Road Shows 2020 (Citadel Theatre), The Free Willies (Freewill Shakespeare & Thou Art Here), and until the next breath (Catalyst Theatre). Other select credits include: As You Like It, The Color Purple (RMTC/Citadel Theatre), Sister Act, All Shook Up, Soul Sistas (Mayfield), Here There Be Night, and John Ware Reimagined (Workshop West). Jameela is delighted to be returning to the Citadel Road Shows. This year she is partnering with powerhouse musician Chariz Faulmino to sing some soulful tunes in their set Rooted in Love. As we are in uncertain times we hope this music provides a moment of joy for anyone listening. In these times and always we must fix our eyes and center our hearts on love, equity, and goodwill.

    Rachel (she/her) is thrilled to be forgetting her troubles with one of her all time favourite collaborators, Steven Greenfield! Previously, Rachel has appeared at the Citadel in Avenue Q, Crazy for You, and The Candidate/The Party. She received Sterling Award nominations for her performances in The Hoof and Mouth Advantage (Teatro la Quindicina), It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s Superman (Plain Jane Theatre Company), and Legoland (Blarney Productions), and was co-producer and co-host of the variety show That’s Terrific during its run at the Varscona Theatre. She is a member of the ensemble of Teatro la Quindicina, has performed with Bright Young Things, Shadow Theatre, and at the Mayfield Dinner Theatre, and can’t wait to return to the Citadel to perform in The Garneau Block as soon as the world allows.

    Born and raised in Calgary, Steven is an Edmonton-based Jessie and OVATION! Award-winning music director, and actor, with credits that span over 85 productions across Canada. Credits include A Christmas Carol, Ring of Fire and Once (Citadel), ‘Max’ in Lend Me a Tenor and Forever Plaid (Mayfield), The Comedy Company (Shadow), Children of God (Citadel/WCT), ‘Jerry Lee Lewis’ in Million Dollar Quartet (Arts Club), Elbow Room Café: The Musical (Zee Zee), A Charlie Brown Christmas (Carousel), and ‘Cogsworth’ in Beauty and the Beast (TUTS). A graduate of Grant MacEwan’s Theatre Arts program, he has been an instructor at Studio 58, Capilano University, and his alma mater. Upcoming: The Wrong People Have Money (Shadow), and Peter Pan Goes Wrong and ELVIS (Citadel).
