Hello Students Club Members,
I hope you all had a happy holiday season, and that your new year is shaping up to be one of the best ever.
The last show we saw was Vimy. Compelling and complex, Vimy prompted some of the most interesting questions I’ve ever heard from Students at talkbacks. This was tremendously reassuring, as I had initially worried that the show might be too mature, or set too far in the past to really resonate with young persons like yourselves. But you had questions on everything from the themes and politics of the play to the set design and the practical difficulties of acting in dirt.
Next on the playbill is Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. This story has been around for centuries, and when Disney made it into a movie over a decade ago it was forever immortalized as one of the Western World’s classic fairy tales.
Following is the Students Club agenda for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL TIMES HAVE BEEN PUSHED BACK HALF AN HOUR

Joining us as our special guest is head lighting technician Sheila Cleasby. Sheila will reveal a few more of the theatre’s secrets, this time illuminating how mood and tone can be set with just a bit of . . . illumination.

BEHIND THE SCENES
The costumes for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast are some of the most complex we’ve ever taken on at the Citadel. They are such a large undertaking that they have actually taken over two of our multi-purpose rooms on the third floor, and necessitating the hiring of no less than 20 costume builders, seamstresses, and wig-makers. top
