Script Submissions

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Before You Submit!

Read all the information below before you submit.

• The Citadel is not a play development organization, although we attempt to stage at least one premiere every season. We do not offer a play development "program" for adult playwrights. We do, however, develop teen playwrights (see Teens @ The Turn) and often produce second and/or subsequent productions of newer work. We rarely produce one-act plays unless they are for young audiences.
• The Citadel Theatre only develops plays destined for probable production on one of our stages. The Citadel currently has a number of plays under commission, and our focus over the next few years, is to develop and produce those works. In most cases these scripts are by established playwrights and have received significant development, at the Citadel itself, or at play development centres, or at other theatres.
• The Citadel Theatre does not accept unsolicited script. However, we are always interested in what playwrights are up to. If you are a professional playwright (i.e. those produced at a P.A.C.T. theatre or its equivalent), contact us and let us know:
  • When and where your play is being professionally produced and/or
  • If you are developing a new play with a P.A.C.T. theatre or its equivilent
