We offer the largest theatre education program in Edmonton and one of the largest in Canada.
The Foote Theatre School (FTS) is the oldest and largest theatre school in Edmonton. Since 1966 we have provided year round classes for all ages and experience levels, teaching physical, technical and creative skills in both acting and musical theatre. Over 1,000 students annually are taught by our faculty of 25 local theatre professionals.
Many FTS students have appeared on our stages in productions such as A Christmas Carol, Oliver!, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Pillowman and The Wizard of Oz.
Our classes provide:

- Instruction from experienced theatre professionals and educators
- A structured and progressive curriculum
- Great facilities with well-equipped studios and access to the Citadel’s performance spaces
- Potential audition opportunities: our students have appeared in many Citadel Mainstage productions including A Christmas Carol, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, Oliver!, Peter Pan, Pippin, The Pillowman, The Sound of Music, The Three Musketeers and The Wizard of Oz.
