During the summer of 2008, the main floor of the Citadel Theatre will undergo the first of a two-part renovation including a new Customer Service Centre and expanded washroom facilities.
Phase Two is scheduled for the summer of 2009 and will include upgrades to Zeidler Hall. Over the next three years, all of the exterior glass panels in the building will be replaced. These upgrades are made possible through the generous support of the City of Edmonton; the Province of Alberta Major Community Facilties Program and private donations.
Reaching the Next Generation
RACHEL RODRIGO |
By simply purchasing a ticket, you play a very important role at the Citadel. Your participation as an audience member is vital to our artistic and financial well-being. However, ticket sales only generate 42% of our operating revenue. As a registered charity, we rely on donations from generous patrons to raise additional funds. We believe that one of the ways to use these funds is to encourage participation of this community’s next generation at the Citadel. Theatre is one of the most dynamic, inspirational and educational tools for young people. It fosters an environment of communication, builds the foundation for healthy personal and professional relationships and provides an outlet for creativity and imagination. The Citadel engages with thousands of young people through a variety of programs including: student matinees, the Foote Theatre School, Maclab Students Club, and the Teens @ the Turn Festival. It is our firm belief that the lives of the next generation will be permanently enriched and shaped by a positive immersion in the arts. More students should have the opportunity to participate in Citadel programs and experience enthusiasm like Rachel’s. Please consider making a donation to sustain and grow these programs. Every donation is important and every contribution helps. Please see the bottom of the order form at the back of this brochure to add a donation to your order. Theatre succeeds when it serves as an instrument of change in the world — to inspire, to teach and to entertain. Thank you for your support and for being a partner in achieving this success. |
