Blood will spill and the corrupt will pay. One of Stephen Sondheim’s greatest musical triumphs, Sweeney Todd is a dark and daring production filled with chills and thrills at every turn. It is the tale of an ordinary man who had everything until a crooked man of power stole his freedom, destroyed his family and banished him for life — and in his sorrow a new man was born.
A vengeful Sweeney Todd returns to Victorian London, and with his demented accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, cooks up a diabolical revenge scheme. Both bitterly macabre and strangely tender, Sweeney Todd is a penetrating examination of the dangerous aspects of the human heart.
Running time for this production is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, including one 20-minute intermission. |
