“The illusion of spontaneity and simplicity is so exact, the tone is so unforced and subtle, that you'll cease marvelling at the sophistication of it all — till later. There's a kind of theatrical magic in that.” –Liz Nicholls, Edmonton Journal More »
“Pure comic gold.” –The Toronto Star
“Beattie's Walt ... remains an endearing companion for a night out at the theatre.”
–Ottawa Citizen
“A brilliantly funny look at humanity ... each episode appears to be more polished and intricately laid out than its predecessor ... entertainment of the highest order.”
–Network Now
In the midst of a record drought, the wells on the Seventh Line are drying up. A search to locate a new source of water on Wingfield Farm ensues, but distractions abound: a high-tech cattle drive, a battle with ground bees, a feud with a red-tailed hawk, an eccentric line-up of water witches and a well-driller who's only too happy to perforate the ground at forty dollars a foot. Is it the end of farming for Walt and Maggie, or can the precious liquid be found?
Rod Beattie is the winner of three best actor awards for stage performances in Wingfield plays: the Sterling (Edmonton), the Dora (Toronto) and the Critic’s Award (Sarasota). This production runs runs approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. |
