This year’s Beyond the Stage Series features four outstanding presentations – all of which are innovative, contemporary, genre-defying collisions of different art forms (music, theatre, and dance). The productions are created and performed by some of the most exciting musicians, choreographers and theatre-makers from across North America. This series includes the internationally acclaimed, award-winning dance/theatre hybrid Betroffenheit; Hadestown creator Anaïs Mitchell in concert; Freedom Singer, a documentary theatre exploration of the history of Underground Railroad through hip hop and soul music; and Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story, a humorously dark and totally unique concert/theatre mash-up starring Canadian singer-songwriter Ben Caplan. We hope you’ll join us for all four of these unique, thought-provoking, music-filled evenings!
