2016 Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program Participants

Eric Dahlinger 2015 ERIC DAHLINGER – Eric Is thrilled to be a part of the Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program. Credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Dance Captain), Hello Dolly, and In the Heights (Graffiti Pete/Dance Captain), and the world première of Brantwood (Marilyn) at Theatre Sheridan. Eric spent two summers participating in the Charlottetown Festival’s Young Company performing in Les Feux Follets (2013), Soul of the Island (2014), and We are Canadian (Dance Captain, 2014).  Other credits include Tommy (Cousin Kevin), and Rent (Angel) at Theatre Aquarius Performing Arts Programme.
 Maria Fernandes 2015 MARIA FERNANDES – Maria Fernandes is a graduate from Randolph Academy’s Performing Arts program in Toronto where she performed Into the Woods, Lord of the Flies, and AMidsummer Night’s Dream. She was recently seen in the Pan Am Opening   Ceremonies with Cirque Du Solei and Luther Brown. Some of her theatrical experiences include Babes in Arms, Urinetown, Pippin, Twelfth Night, Annie, and Anne of Green Gables. Maria has been privileged to study various styles of dance with companies such as Metro Movement, O.I.P Dance, City Dance Corps, Third Street Beat, and Shelley’s Dance Company.
 Cameron Francis 2015b CAMERON FRANCIS – Upcoming – West Side Story (Citadel Theatre); Performance Swing in Anne & Gilbert (Guild Theatre); Benson/Nate in the Dora Award winning production of Brantwood, Ernie Lally in A Man of No Importance, Barnaby Tucker in Hello Dolly!Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Theatre Sheridan); Trannie in Moll, Marathon of Hope (Canadian Music Theatre Project); Parade: Broadway in Concert (Lincoln Centre); There’s No Business like Irving Berlin (Harold Green Jewish Theatre); Les Feux Follets, Abegweit- Soul of the Island, Assistant Choreographer of the world premiere of Evangeline (Charlottetown Festival). Television and Film credits include: Man Seeking Women (FXX), Prince William & Kate’s Royal Tour (BBC, CBC), Canada Games Opening Ceremonies (TSN). Training: 2015 graduate of Sheridan’s Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program, Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program.  Jason Hardwick 2015 JASON HARDWICK – Jason is beyond exited to be making his Citadel Theatre debut and to be a participant in the Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program. He is an Edmonton-based actor, improviser and dancer and an alumnus of the MacEwan Theatre Arts program. Some favorite credits of his are The Merry Widow (Edmonton Opera), Jack and The Beanstalk, Cinderella (Capitol Theatre), Mary Poppins (Globe Theatre), April in Peril (Acme Theatre), A New Brain, Mack and Mabel, Little Fish, Bells Are Ringing (Plain Janes), Chicago, All Shook Up (Stage West Calgary), Hairspray, Chicago, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Mayfield). Jason can also be seen Monday nights at Die-Nasty at the Backstage Theatre (the Varscona’s temporary home).
 David Lightcrop DAVID LIGHT– David was raised in Prince Albert, SK and is currently based in Toronto. David made his Citadel debut in the 2010 production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and most recently appeared in Evangeline. Other selected theatre credits include Mr. Phillips in Anne of Green Gables -The Musical™, Canada ROCKS! (Confederation Centre); Billy Elliot–The Musical (First National Tour/Mirvish/NETWorks National Tour); Chicago (Drayton Entertainment); Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and Robin Hood (Ross Petty Productions); as well as The Rocky Horror Show and Cabaret (LOT Productions). Television and film credits include Triple Sensation – Season II (CBC) and In the Light (Bravo).  Alex Kellycrop ALEX KELLY – Alex made his Citadel debut earlier this season in Evangeline. Hailing all the way from  Prince Edward Island, Alex has performed in such productions as We Are Canadian, Abegweit Soul of the Island (Confederation Centre); Tyler/Vince in Brantwood 1920- 2020, Usnavi in In The   Heights, Hello Dolly!, Rolly in Marathon of Hope, Governor Slaton in Parade, and Judas in Godspell (Theatre Sheridan). Thank you to my family, The Talent House, and the Sheridan BMT program for always being so supportive! @aakell
 Krystal Kiran 2015 KRYSTAL KIRAN – Krystal is delighted and grateful to be joining the wonderful tribe of artists, creatives, crew/production and company management of the 2016 Citadel/Banff Centre PTP! Select credits include: AR Rahman’s Jai Ho World Tour; Broadway: Bombay Dreams; Mirvish: Lord of the Rings; Film/TV: Minority Report (Fox), Hemlock Grove, Thy Beauty’s Doom (Bravofact), Hairspray, Hellcats, The Love Guru, Rick Mercer Report, Good Morning America, MTV Live and more. Krystal is passionate about teaching and is a registered Yoga teacher from Rishikesh Yog Peeth in India. She continues to refine her craft as a classical Indian Kathak dancer and is founder/creative director at House of Kiran Productions.  George Krissa 2015 GEORGE KRISSA – Originally from Lashburn, Saskatchewan, now based out of Toronto, George was graduated from the Grant MacEwan College/University Music Program with a diploma in Vocal Performance.  Most recently he sang the role of Isaac in the premier of David Warrack’s Oratorio Abraham.  Other Theatre credits include: The Songs of Sinatra (Drayton Entertainment), Summer in the City (Stage West Calgary), and White   Christmas (Festival Place). Film/TV credits: The Social  (CTV), Bed of the Dead (Breakthrough Entertainment), Civil War   Chronicles (American Heroes Channel), Forbidden and Close Encounters  (Discovery Channel). George is absolutely thrilled to be participating in the Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program!
 Grant Landry 2015new GRANT LANDRY – Grant is a Toronto based Singer/Actor/Dancer and is grateful to be a part of the 2015/16 Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program and West Side Story. He is looking forward to the experience ahead as well as being so close to his hometown of Grande Prairie, AB.  Jordan Mah 2015 new crop JORDAN JOSEPH MAH – Jordan is thrilled to be a part of the Citadel family and to participate in the Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program. A Toronto based actor, Jordan is originally from Edmonton. Select credits include Clara’s Dream (Shumka/SPI), Dogfight and RENT (Scona Alumni Theatre),   Eugene Onegin (Edmonton Opera), Shumka at 50! (China tour). Jordan is a proud alumnus of Grant MacEwan (Theatre   Arts). He would like to express his love and gratitude to his family and   friends.
 Lucas Meeuse 2016crop LUCAS MEEUSE – Lucas is thrilled to be home in Alberta performing at the Citadel once again. Select theatre credits include Mary Poppins, Cabaret (Theatre Aquarius); Into the Woods, The Jungle Book (Neptune Theatre); 9 to 5, The Sound of Music (Drayton Entertainment); 9 to (Mayfield); Vigilante (Catalyst Theatre/Citadel Theatre); The Wizard of Oz (Citadel Theatre); Treasure Island (TNB); West   Side Story (TSJ); The Sound of Music (Persephone); and Canada   in Love (Smile Theatre).  NatalieMooreHS2015 NATALIE MOORE – Natalie is thrilled to be part of the 2015/16 Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program and to be making her debut at the Citadel Theatre.  Theatre credits include: Crazy for You, A Midsummer Night’s Dream   (The Stratford Festival); Spamalot (Stage West, Calgary); Dance Legends (The Grand Theatre); Killer Business: The Musical (Toronto – Next Stage Theatre Festival); Crazy for You (Theatre by the Bay); Chicago – The Musical (Amber Theatre – Royal Caribbean International); The Nutcracker (The National Arts Centre); Sweet Charity (Centrepointe Theatre); Anne Carson’s Antigonick   (Workshop – The Stratford   Festival). Film work includes: Man Seeking Woman, Shadowhunters, The Next Step, Bomb Girls, Reign and as a stunt-double on The Undeading (Heart & Stroke PSA). Natalie is a classically trained Dancer & Singer and a proud member of Fight Directors of Canada.
 Matt O'Connor MATT O’CONNOR – Originally from Barrie, Ontario, now based out of Toronto, Matt is a graduate of the BFA acting conservatory program from the Ryerson Theatre School. Selected theatre credits include: upcoming – West Side Story (Citadel Theatre), Evangeline (Confederation Centre/Citadel Theatre co-production), Summerland (Toronto Fringe), Elly’s Emotions (Theatre Collingwood) Corpus Dance Projects (international touring), They All Do It (Odyssey Theatre), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Theatre by the Bay). Film and television credits include Country Crush, Carmilla, Golden Teachers, Lawmen, The Door, Ozion, Paranormal Witness, and See No Evil. Matt is a participant in the 2016 Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program and will be performing in West Side Story. He is very excited and grateful to be a part of such an amazing cast and crew!
 Melanie Piatocha 2015crop MELANIE PIATOCHA – Melanie is thrilled to have been invited to take part in this year’s Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program. Born and raised in Edmonton and a graduate of The MacEwan University Theatre Arts Program, she is so proud to be making her debut with the Citadel not only in the classic musical theatre piece, West Side Story, but also as a member of the program.  Kristen-Pottle-2015crop KRISTEN POTTLE – Being a part of the Citadel Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program is a dream come true for Kristen. Growing up on the East Coast she has since made Toronto her home. Select credits include: The Wizard of Oz (Mirvish/ National Tour,  swing/Wicked Witch US), Anne of Green Gables (Dance Captain/ swing), Alice Through the Looking Glass, Canada Rocks, Ring of Fire, Full Monty, Les Feux Follets (Charlottetown Festival), West Side Story  (Graziella, Vancouver Opera), The Producers, Joseph, Happy Days, All Shook Up (Stage West) and Beauty and the Beast (SilverMist).  Travis Seetoocrop TRAVIS SEETOO – Travis is beyond excited to be performing in West Side Story, which has been his dream show since he could snap and whistle. Credits: Shaw Festival: Sweet Charity, Pygmalion, Cabaret, Juno and the Paycock, Guys and Dolls, Lady Windermere’s Fan (Newton Award), Workshop Performances of 33 ⅓ and Spring Awakening. Stratford Festival: The Pirates of Penzance, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Lindsay Thomas Award). Other Theatre: Rolf in The Sound of Music (Theatre Aquarius) Dear Santa (Upper Canada Playhouse) The Nutcracker (The National Ballet of Canada). Training: National Ballet School, Sheridan College, Slate Family Academy (Shaw Festival). Upcoming: Travis will next be seen playing Jack in Into The Woods at the Thousand Islands Playhouse.
 Eva Tavares 2015crop EVA TAVARES – Eva Tavares is thrilled to be a part of West Side Story and the Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program! A recent graduate from UBC   Opera, Tavares has been offered various performance opportunities, most   notably  Woman 1 in Out of a Dream with Patrick Street Productions, Soprano soloist for the Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular, Harry in Albert Herring with Vancouver Opera, Anne in A Little Night Music with The Confidential Musical Theatre Project, and Mi in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s concert of Land of Smiles. She is active in the dance community with teaching and   choreographing, most recently choreographing Die Fledermaus for Vancouver Opera. Tavares is currently a teaching artist with the Vancouver Opera, a member of Health Arts as an ArtsWay Ambassador, and a singer and choreographer with 1940’s revival group The Lady Larks.
 Alison Roberts 2016crop ALISON ROBERTS – Alison grew up in Victoria BC and attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts. She then moved to Vancouver and trained at Harbour Dance in the Intensive Training Program. Some recent theatrical highlights include: The Arts Club Theatre (Spamalot), The Vancouver Opera (West Side Story)  Rainbow Stage (West Side Story), and The Capitol Theatre (Singin’ In The Rain). As you can see, she is no stranger to the production of West Side Story and this actually marks her 5th production of the show, most recently performing as Graziella and the ‘Somewhere‘ soloist in Winnipeg. West Side Story was the first musical he saw on Broadway.
